Another new find for me is Acrimonious, who brings us their third
album Eleven Dragons. The Hellenic trio brings us 11 (shocking)
tracks of latter day black metal often reminiscent of a time before
Watain got boring. So while there isn’t much here that is decidedly
groundbreaking, but it’s well written, and executed. The production
does deserve a mention as it’s got that perfect blend where you can
hear everything perfectly yet still has some grime and warmth to it
keeping it from becoming sterile. This is a great album which deserves
more recognition than it’s gotten, and since the band is apparently
philosophically opposed to PR, hopefully this brings it to some new
ears.
