I recall discovering Udånde’s Life of a Purist and in one way was
happy I’d discovered it a year or so after it was released so I didn’t
have to explain why “up arrow” song was better than “stricken through
down arrow” (if this confuses you I suggest you look the album up).
Luckily this year’s EP has actual titles, but this being an EP there
are only two tracks but clocking in at around ten minutes each it’s
not too far off a full length Deicide album. Now in many ways Worried
I - Futurism musically continues on the path from 2022’s _Slow Death
- A Celebration of Self-Hatred’ a modern fairly clean and punchy black
metal, it’s hard not to draw comparisons to perhaps earlier
incantations of Gaerea. All this to say this is fairly easy listening,
but well written and executed, it will be interesting to see what the
coming parts of this trilogy bring.
