So started out with some pain today, as a result I took the speed down
a notch and decided to add some distance. When I was still feeling
strong towards the end I added another mile and change, it felt longer
but it was all uphill. Overall a decent run.
Running in DC in the spring and summer you spend quite a lot of time
dodging tourists, as well as all the regulars. As annoying as that at
times is I’ve come to realize that they fulfill an important role.
When you’re out there are in general two different types of people out
there, there are those you’d want to be and those you’re really happy
you’re not. The tourists tend to weight heavily in the second category
(no pun intended). There are few things more motivating than seeing an
obese couple in their motorized scooters and knowing that being out
there fighting through the pain will better my odds of never ending up
like that.
