For almost two decades Naas Alcameth has been putting out black metal
with his many projects, and with every release there has been some
tangible improvement be it in songwriting, composition, production -
oftentimes all of the above. So it should probably not come as a
surprise that even this well would run dry. I should be clear that
_House of the Black Geminus_ isn't a bad album, it's just a bit
disappointing in that it fails to be an improvement on the last one.
Sound wise it feels like a continuation from _Melinoë_ but without any
obvious improvements, and the songs while well written and played lack
something, listening through the album I don't remember any particular
song or passage nor do I immediately feel the urge to hit repeat.
Hopefully this is just an aberration and I still look forward to
whatever comes next.
