Subject: 3: Auld Ridge - For Death and Glory, to the Gods I Cry From: .jh Date: 2024-12-23T16:05:00Z Tags: music blog best\ of best\ of\ 2024 Auld\ Ridge 2024 ![For Death and Glory, to the Gods I Cry](/gfx/1266839.jpg) Auld Ridge was a new find this year, although this is their fifth album none of the older ones are available on bandcamp so I've not had a chance to do any sort of comparisons. Sound is raw and pretty tinny, most of the time this proceeds at a decent clip with only the occasional slow down. Songs are quite melodic and memorable, I am not convinced by the "atmospheric black metal" description on metal archives, it reminds me more of some medieval black metal I'd get out of Aorlhac or Ferriterium (albeit with the aforementioned tinny and raw sound). All in all this was a great find which I've enjoyed every listen it's gotten. Highly recommended. [Auld Ridge on Encyclopaedia Metallum](https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Auld_Ridge/3540464267) ---
