I'm not sure what it was about 2018 but quite a few bands came out
with albums which while on their own perhaps were not spectacular but
they were huge improvements over previous output. Shining is a good
example of this _X - Varg Utan Flock_ is probably the best overall
album since _V - Halmstad_ which came out over ten years ago. Now I've
liked some of his output in the intervening years but mostly it's been
a song here and there, for the first time in a long time we have a
whole album of decent songs. While they keep at their mostly black n'
roll as they've been doing for a few years now there are a few more
passages which brings back some of the older days. Just enough to keep
it interesting.
